All of our lights are crafted by hand in our workshop in Bristol by Joe Lyster. Each design is a product of experimentation and linked intrinsically to the natural world and how we can utilise found and reclaimed natural materials such as wood and metal in a meaningful way.
Throughout time, Joe has experimented with natural dyed fabrics, ageing patina and exciting ways to use recycled wood such as plywood. The fearlessness to explore, combined with a taste for contemporary, minimalist design, is how the various lights we sell today have come to exist.
The video below shows the process of one particular light, the Acorn, and its journey from a fallen oak tree to the finished product. This design was inspired by the act of clearing space in the woodland for new life to grow and bringing a little piece of it into the home through respectful and conscious design.
